Yapılan açıklamaya göre, kalp kapakçığı kireçlenmesi teşhisiyle Hasköy'den Sofya'ya nakledilen Ciguli, ameliyat için verilen narkozdan çıkamadı. Türkiye'ye 1990 yılında gelen 57 yaşındaki Ciguli'nin cenazesinin memleketi Hasköy'de toprağa verilecek.

31 Ekim 2014 tarihinde Bulgaristan'ın başkenti Sofya'da kalp rahatsızlığı nedeniyle kaldırıldığı hastanede narkozun etkisinden çıkamayarak ölmüştür.
