Ayrıca Rusya ve Ukrayna gibi selüloz ithalatı yapılan ülkelerde yaşanan kriz durumu, hem tedariki hem de fiyatları uçurdu.

Yerli gazete ve kitap kâğıdı üretimi yapmak için 1981 yılında faaliyete geçen SEKA Balıkesir Kâğıt Fabrikası, 1997 yılında özelleştirme kapsamında anonim şirkete dönüştürülmüş, 2003 yılında ise Albayrak Grubu'na dahil olmuştur.
